Graduate Support
Students and staff know that De La Salle’s unique features—small
class sizes, individual support and attention, a year-round academic
calendar, and, most importantly, a community empowered by a
commitment to the compassion and healing message of the Gospels
are what make DLS a safe and successful school. The innovative
approach to education at De La Salle prepares graduates for
the rigor and opportunities at St. Louis’ premier public and
private high schools. However, the transition into more traditional
settings—large classes, two or three months off in the summer,
as well as social, economic, and moral norms that may, at times,
contrast with De La Salle’s—can be a challenge for our students.
To help successful middle school students become successful
high school students, an integral part of De La Salle’s missionw
involves tracking and supporting De La Salle graduates as they
navigate first, the high school admission process, followed by their
high school classes, extra curricular
activities, and, subsequently, preparation for attending a two- or
four-year college.

Educators at NativityMiguel schools across the country recognize the need to continue to offer students a safe, focused space not only to complete daily homework, but to dream about and plan their futures. The Graduate Support component of a De La Salle education empowers De La Salle graduates through a continued interest and investment in their education.

De La Salle graduates, at high schools like CBC, Nerinx, Metro Academic and Classical Academy, DeSmet, Incarnate Word, and SLU High, return to DLS for daily study halls and monthly socials and service opportunities. As they approach high school graduation, De La Salle offers one-on-one attention through the college application process. In 2008, the first class of De La Salle students graduated from high school and is looking forward to furthering their education at four- and two-year colleges and universities.
