De La Salle’s mission of offering empowering educational
opportunities to at risk students in North St. Louis’ greater Ville
neighborhood is fully actualized only if students and their families
have access to the best parochial, private, magnet,, and charter high
schools in metropolitan St. Louis. To this end, the Graduate Support
Program at De La Salle furthers the overall mission of De La Salle
at St. Matthew by guiding students and families through the high
school admission process, acting as an advocate for De La Salle
graduates in high school, and as a liaison between families and their
student’s high school. Keeping in mind the fact that students in their
high school years will soon enter our community as adults, the
Graduate Support Program facilitates relationships between students
and mentors who assist, not only as homework tutors, but as
examples of engaged, independent, thoughtful, compassionate,
and just members of the St. Louis community. When De La Salle
alumni approach high school graduation, the Graduate Support
Program offers SAT/ACT preparation, as well as college counseling.
The Graduate Support Program makes certain that the holistic
education at De La Salle is perpetuated whatever path students take
after their middle school years.
