Shannon Adams,
DLS class of
2004 and Cardinal Ritter College Prep class of 2008,
received the
Cardinal Ritter Growth Award for most improved attitude, behavior and
educational commitment. The teacher giving the award described Shannon as a
very special young woman, who all of the teachers agreed was a bright part
of their days...a kind, wonderful, genuine, funny young woman who they
really loved.
Derrick Phillips, DLS class of 2004 and Cardinal Ritter College Prep class of 2008, received a Community Service Certificate, an Art Certificate and a Physics Certificate at the Cardinal Ritter College Prep Senior Ribbon Night ceremony.Shaina Williams, DLS class of 2004 and Cardinal Ritter College Prep class of 2008, received a College Algebra Certificate and a Calculus Certificate at the Cardinal Ritter College Prep Senior Ribbon Night ceremony.Kimberly Collins, DLS class of 2006, was elected as the St. Elizabeth Academy Junior Class Vice President for the 2008-2009 school year. In addition, Kimberly has been selected to participate in a summer academic program at Howard University. |
Korey Stewart,
DLS class of 2004 and CBC
class of 2008, received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Model of Justice Award
this past January. The award was given to selected high school students who
have demonstrated a commitment to service. Jasmine Collins , DLS class of 2005, competed in a teen Jeopardy contest, and placed third, receiving a $500 scholarship.Nicholas Garvin, DLS class of 2007 and Kosta Longmire, DLS class of 2007, have been chosen to participate in the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Teen Institute. This 4-day seminar/retreat is designed to train teen leaders to prevent substance abuse among their peers.A special thanks to the following graduates for successfully facilitating the 8th Grade Retreat. These 7 graduates gave of their time on two consecutive Saturdays (all day!) to prepare for and to lead our diversity-themed retreat: Shannon Adams, DLS class of 2004, Derrick Phillips, DLS class of 2004, Dominic Boyland, DLS class of 2006, Shaina Williams, DLS class of 2004, Clarissa West, DLS class of 2004, Darryl Adams, DLS class of 2005 and Jasmine Triplett, DLS class of 2005. |
